Margaret’s Kitchen

Margaret’s Kitchen has been serving culturally adapted nutritious and affordable meals to the English Black Speaking Community since its original inception in 1998. Over the past 24 years, more than 120,000 prepared meals have been delivered to the community members. Each week, members of the community receive an in-person meal as well as meals delivered to their homes Regardless of age, ability, or life circumstances, we all have something to offer the world. It may be as simple as a smile, or it may be a testament to the courage everyday living requires— whatever shape our gifts take, they exist within all of us to share. At Margaret's Kitchen, we give the comfort of healthy, nutritious meals to anyone who needs it, so they can continue giving themselves to the world. What we aim to offer our clients is far more than full stomachs, we want to offer them the chance to be the heroes of their own stories.

Brown Box

Each week, registered participants of the service received a box filled with breakfast. Lunch & snack items for children to take to school. The box was shipped to the recipient’s home and delivered to the door. Each box contained a variety of items such as: a loaf of bread, peanut butter and jelly, juice boxes and more! The Brown Box program was created at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to help those in need. The organization recognized that many families were struggling with their finances and they wanted to help them out. By providing food assistance, they could ensure that their community members would have access to nutritious meals. The Brown Box program was originally created for children and their families, but over time it expanded to unity members and businesses. include seniors as well. They continue to provide food assistance through donations from their comm
